Job Summary:
An anonymous employer in the education sector is seeking a qualified Teacher/Headmaster to join their school located in New Weija near DVLA SCC. The job holder will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and implementing strategies to improve the institution’s marketability. This role requires a strong understanding of teaching methodologies, school administration, and effective communication with students, staff, and parents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Curriculum Development:
- Design and implement a comprehensive teaching plan that aligns with the school’s curriculum standards.
- Teach core subjects, including alphabet and numeracy, while also incorporating personal, social, and emotional development skills.
- Utilize innovative and varied instructional methods such as songs, storytelling, media, structured games, art, and outdoor activities to stimulate and engage students’ abilities.
- Organize and manage learning materials and resources to create a conducive learning environment.
- Student Development:
- Foster an atmosphere of cooperation, respect, and sharing among students, while monitoring their interactions to ensure healthy social development.
- Guide and support students through personalized instruction that meets their individual needs and learning styles.
- Ensure students are learning in a safe, nurturing environment, adhering to school safety regulations and teaching standards.
- Communication with Parents:
- Maintain open and effective lines of communication with parents, providing them with regular updates on their child’s progress.
- Engage parents in discussions about their child’s development, offering recommendations for continued growth both inside and outside the classroom.
- School Administration:
- As a Headmaster, oversee the daily administration of the school, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with educational regulations and standards set by the governing bodies.
- Implement strategies to enhance the school’s reputation and marketability, aiming to attract new students and retain current enrollments.
Requirements:
- Educational Qualifications:
- For Teachers: A Diploma in Early Childhood Development is required for those working with younger children. For those teaching at the primary school level, a minimum qualification of a Degree is required.
- For Headmaster: A First Degree or Diploma in Basic Education is required.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching and/or school administration is required.
- Previous experience in early childhood education or primary education is a significant advantage.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of teaching methodologies and child development principles.
- Ability to use a variety of instructional methods to engage and motivate students.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing learning materials and resources.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Leadership skills to manage school operations and ensure a high standard of education.
