Job Summary:
Elite Springs Academy is seeking qualified and dedicated Maths, Science, and English teachers for immediate employment to teach at the Junior High School (JHS) level. The successful candidates will be responsible for facilitating and monitoring student learning, delivering engaging lessons, and contributing to the overall well-being of students. Minimum Qualification:
- Diploma in Education (with a focus on Maths, Science, or English preferred)
Experience Level:
- Entry level, with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the JHS level.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate and Monitor Student Learning:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver effective lessons in Maths, Science, or English that engage students and promote active learning.
- Assess and monitor student progress through regular testing, homework, and classwork, ensuring that all students meet academic expectations.
- Provide additional support and resources to students who are struggling with specific concepts, and offer tailored instruction to meet their individual needs.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, such as hands-on activities, group work, and discussions, to make learning interactive and meaningful.
2. Implement and Enforce School Policies:
- Assist in the implementation of school policies and procedures related to student behavior, attendance, and well-being.
- Monitor student behavior both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring a positive and respectful learning environment.
- Take appropriate disciplinary action when necessary, in accordance with school guidelines, and report serious issues to the administration.
3. Ensure Health, Safety, and Well-being of Students:
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment where students feel valued and respected.
- Ensure that all students adhere to health and safety regulations within the classroom and during school activities.
- Be responsive to students’ emotional and social needs, providing guidance or referring them to school counselors when necessary.
4. Curriculum Development and Assessment:
- Assist in planning and developing the school’s education program by contributing ideas for curriculum enhancements and lesson plans.
- Regularly assess the effectiveness of teaching materials and methods, making adjustments where needed to improve student outcomes.
- Maintain detailed records of student performance and participate in school-wide assessments and evaluations.
5. Maintain an Attractive Learning Environment:
- Ensure that the classroom is well-organized, clean, and visually appealing, with relevant educational materials displayed to support learning.
- Use creative teaching aids, such as charts, posters, and educational technology, to enhance the learning experience.
- Promote an atmosphere of curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, encouraging students to take ownership of their education.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure the smooth running of the school and the success of its students.
- Participate in regular staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about student progress, upcoming lessons, and any concerns regarding their child’s education.
- Foster positive relationships with the school community, including students, staff, and parents.
7. Additional Duties:
- Perform other tasks as requested by the school administration, including attending school events, helping with extracurricular activities, and assisting with administrative tasks when necessary.
- Be a proactive member of the school community, contributing to its growth and success.
Other Requirements:
- At least 2 years of teaching experience at the Junior High School level.
- Must possess a Diploma in Education with a strong understanding of the subject matter (Maths, Science, or English).
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to create engaging lesson plans and manage a classroom effectively.
- A passion for teaching and helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Salary Range:
- GHS 1,500 per month
