Fun House Nursery is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Main Room Teachers and Assistant Teachers to join our vibrant early childhood education team. Key Responsibilities:

As a Main Room Teacher or Assistant Teacher, you will play an important role in nurturing the growth and development of young learners. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing Age-Appropriate Lessons: Create and implement engaging lesson plans based on Montessori and Jolly Phonics methodologies. Ensure that the curriculum supports the cognitive, social, and emotional development of every child.
  • Fostering a Positive Learning Environment: Create a classroom atmosphere that is supportive, inclusive, and encourages children to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace. Address the individual needs of each child with care and attention.
  • Collaboration with Colleagues and Parents: Work closely with fellow educators, assistants, and parents to ensure the holistic development of the children. Regular communication with parents regarding the progress of their child and addressing any concerns is essential.
  • Maintaining a Safe Classroom: Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and safe for all students. Create a space that is conducive to learning, play, and discovery.
  • Monitoring Child Development: Continuously assess and monitor the progress of each child, keeping detailed records and providing regular updates and feedback to parents. Make appropriate adjustments to teaching strategies as needed.
  • Staying Updated on Educational Practices: Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in early childhood education. Engage in professional development opportunities to continually enhance your teaching skills.

Requirements:

To qualify for the position of Main Room Teacher or Assistant Teacher, candidates should possess the following:

  • Education:
    • For Main Room Teacher: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
    • Montessori training and certification is required for both teacher and assistant roles.
  • Experience:
    • At least 2 years of relevant experience working with young children in a nursery or preschool setting.
  • Language Skills:
    • Proficiency in English and/or French (both spoken and written).
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills:
    • Strong communication abilities to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Passion for Early Childhood Education:
    • A genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to their overall well-being and development.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive and productive school atmosphere.
