Job Summary
Zakhem Construction Ghana Limited is seeking a skilled and experienced IT Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Information Technology, with expertise in managing computer systems, networks, and software applications. The IT Administrator will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure and providing ongoing support to staff. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining IT services to support seamless company operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Network and System Management:
- Manage and maintain the company’s network infrastructure, ensuring all systems are operational and secure.
- Set up and manage both Windows and Linux server environments.
- Oversee the management of multi-IP networks, ensuring connectivity and smooth data flow.
- Ensure timely maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment, printers, and other IT hardware.
- End User Support:
- Provide technical support and assistance to employees, helping them resolve hardware and software issues.
- Explain technical issues in clear, simple language to non-technical staff.
- Identify gaps in IT knowledge among employees and conduct training sessions or recommend appropriate external training programs.
- Vendor Management:
- Review vendor contracts for hardware, software, and IT services to ensure the best solutions are being deployed based on company needs.
- Coordinate IT purchases and ensure effective implementation and deployment of IT tools and services.
- IT Strategy & Development:
- Collaborate with the Finance Manager and other departments to align IT services with the company’s operational goals.
- Assist in the development of IT policies and procedures to ensure system integrity, data security, and business continuity.
- Monitor IT systems to identify potential risks or issues and take a proactive approach in resolving them before they affect operations.
- After-Hours Support:
- Be available to work beyond regular hours when necessary to address critical system issues or support special projects.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar IT administration role.
- Extensive experience in managing both Windows and Linux server environments.
- Proven experience in managing multi-IP networks and troubleshooting IT hardware such as printers and other office equipment.
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical issues in plain language to end users.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to work after hours if required.
- Additional Requirements:
- Must reside within the Accra metropolis.
- Hands-on individual with a proactive approach to handling IT issues and requests.
